Our Partners in South East Asia.
Asha Kiran Special Needs School in Bangalore.
India for Christ Ministries in Bangalore. (IFCM)
Jesus Mercy Home Association, in Salem. (JMHA)
CBC has been running short team trips to our Indian partners since 2002. Over the years we have built up a very strong bond with each of them. We work in Asha Kiran school alongside staff and pupils, and with IFCM and JMHA who reach out to the unreached people groups of India. We visit local churches, schools and villages, often with a team of puppets, to communicate the gospel.
Below are some comments from people, who were on the 2016 trip. The next trip will be early 2018.

My Indian journey.
In the year 2002 the invitation came from Prem James for Cheriton Baptist Church to go India see all that the Lord was doing in India. After looking at the cost, and with me not working, the decision was made not to pursue it. But God had other ideas. On the day the flights were being booked I drove a friend to Gatwick as they were off on holiday. We spoke about going to India and that they were going. Asked if I was going I said “I love to but with no money I cannot go”. This is where God stepped in. Through this friend all my costs were covered and I was booked on the flight to India. Praise God!! Just how much this trip was to change my life was yet to be seen. When we arrived in India I was in a complete mess. All alone in my room in Bangalore I gave the trip over to the Lord and asked Him to give me a heart for the people of India. God not only gave me a heart for the people of India He has made it possible to be on team not just in 2002 but in 2005, 2007, 2009, 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2016. Each team is different with different people and different challenges, but God always brings the team together to bring the best out in each of us. These trips have helped me see myself differently. Instead of 'I cannot do that' I have found 'I can do that' (with the Lords help) and that is all down to the work that the Lord has done in me. I would encourage anyone to go on short term mission trip. It does not have to be India. But it will transform your life. I look forward to welcoming you on a mission’s trip to India I the future. Yours in Christ Jesus Rob Francis Short Term Missions Leader "I felt God telling me it was time to go to India, and when God tells you something you don’t say no. So I kept praying and then I knew it was God speaking to me. It was a great experience for me, being a part of God’s family is the best feeling ever.
It says in Matthew 9:37-38. NIV. 'The harvest is plentiful but the labours are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest therefore to send out the workers into his harvest field.' I encourage anyone who feels they would like to go to India, read this verse and pray that God will speak to you. I did and I’m glad I did , praise God." Paul Hillier |

No-one was more surprised than me when I heard myself agree to go to India. While my mouth was saying yes, a voice inside my head was screaming “are you mad, you can’t do that??” The whole concept went against everything I usually go out of my way to avoid at all costs! I’m not going to lie, in the months leading up to January I was a complete nervous wreck, kind of like being strapped into an inescapable, never ending, roller coaster ride. But reality is never as bad as you imagine, and at 3.30am, after over 12 hours of travelling, we arrived in India. Nothing can prepare you for the first time you step out of the airport and into a barrage of traffic, car horns, people and heat, and at first it can seem overwhelming but it’s amazing how quickly it becomes the norm. After loading our bags we set off for IFCM to start our 16 day adventure in this amazing country. India, it seems to me, is like a huge colourful (very noisy) market. The roads are lined with people selling everything from coconuts to motorbike helmets (which by the way many people don’t use!), and talking of the roads, well, whacky races has nothing on India! Cars, lorries, buses, motorbikes, autos, pedestrians, dogs and cows do this daily dance together in what at first sight looks to be chaos, but incredibly nobody gets stressed or angry and it, quite unbelievably, seems to work! Our first 6 days were spent in Bangalore during which time we did numerous puppet performances, painted equipment and walls at Asha Kiran Special Needs School and watched, took part in and presented medals at the most incredible sports day I’ve ever seen! We also found time to do a little shopping, see (and touch) elephants at Bannerghatta Safari Park and visit Coffee Day! Friday saw us depart for Salem, a stark contrast to Bangalore, as we were staying in a rural area, where it was possible to hear the birds and sounds of the countryside instead of car horns and city noise, broken only periodically by music and chanting from the local Hindu Temples. While in Salem, we visited many schools, performed to literally thousands of kids, distributed shoes, walking aids and food at a leper colony, attended a wedding, prayed at a ground breaking for a local hospital My time in India has taught me many things – But most of all I learnt is that I am a valuable member of the team.
